Predator: Gene, to Roger Your standards are dropping. Uh, actually Id have to go with Roger on this one, Gene. Predator may not have been a wholly original concept, but it was executed well. Babys Day Out: Gene and Roger arguing whether kids will be scared for the baby constantly in peril in the movie. I believe this is also the review when Roger says Gene ought to be ashamed of himself for recommending it, and Gene interrupts and says, Ashamed of what? Not agreeing with you? Im always proud of that! Dont Be a Menace to South : Gene thinks that Roger is saying that certain subjects are off-limits to parody, and tries to call him on it. Sort of on-topic, but if you havent seen the outtakes yet of Siskel and Ebert from their early days, watch them. Theyre hilarious, in that are they kidding or not? kind of way. Uh, actually Id have to go with Roger on this one, Gene. Predator may not have been a wholly original concept, but it was executed well. most things are derivative, but i think predator gave it a nice spin all its own. I like the idea of a being thats hunting down and killing a highly skilled military unit all by itself and the lone hero takes it down by using his intelligence and not just fire power or brute force. Predator has a slick gloss, but its essentially a B-movie at heart, and I think that for what it is, its a lot of fun.
